Job summary

CEPI in Lansing, MI is seeking a Senior SQL Server/Azure Data Engineer to lead data warehouse initiatives, manage SQL Server environments, and drive ETL modernization as we move from on-prem to cloud. You will guide data architecture, security, and data modeling to support agency reporting.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in the field.
• 8-10+ years experience with TSQL.
• 6-8+ years experience with ETL development.
• 5+ years experience with PowerShell.
• 5+ years experience with Azure DevOps.
• 5+ years experience with Scrum.
• Experience with Azure Database services.
• Experience with SQL Data Modeling/structure.
• Experience with Extensive ETL development experience.

Responsibilities

• Identify, analyze, categorize, synthesize, design, and productive use of business information.
• Enforce architectural frameworks; monitor and upgrade server infrastructure.
• Designs, implements, and expands data pipelines with ETL; data prep, analysis, and reporting; troubleshoot; collaborate with developers and business teams to deliver high-quality data.
• Data analysis and database management; maintenance, enhancement, data dictionaries, models, and performance tuning.
• Establishes physical database parameters; uses SQL to define objects and controls access.
• Enter SQL to create production databases; monitor performance with utilities; direct programmers and analysts.
• Evaluates user requests for new data elements; ensure data integrity; load databases; model data; develop ETLs.
• Executes procedures to save, retrieve, and recover databases; assist with security standards and disaster recovery.
