Job summary

Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. is seeking a senior database engineer to design and optimize enterprise-grade database solutions. You will lead performance tuning, automation, and critical backup/recovery operations across multi‑platform environments.

The role requires 9+ years in database design/administration, expert SQL Server skills, and strong collaboration with business units and IT teams. On-site in Atlanta, GA, with on-call rotation as part of the duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or equivalent
• 9+ years of experience with various database management systems in a multi‑platform environment
• Expert SQL Server knowledge (2012–2022) and performance tuning
• Knowledge of DAG/Always-On Availability Groups and data center operations
• Experience with automation, data security, and backup/recovery
• Strong communication, self-motivation and customer-focus

Responsibilities

• Designs and architect’s database solutions.
• Optimizes database access and allocates resources for performance and cost.
• Performs data analysis for timely, accurate information and forecasting.
• Ensures SLAs for internal and external clients.
• Lead projects including tech-stack upgrades and migrations.
• Collaborates as SME between DBA team and business units.
• Monitors performance, availability, and capacity; prepares reports.
