Job summary

Washington State Health Care Authority seeks a Senior Database Administrator to lead the EDD DBA team. The role focuses on traditional databases, SQL Server, data architecture, and enterprise data standards, with flexible telework and occasional on-site coordination in Olympia.

You will shape data strategy, ensure compliance, deprecate outdated systems, and mentor staff while aligning with enterprise architecture goals and MMIS governance.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience in architecture, developing and implementing solutions with Microsoft SQL Server.
• Four years of database development and administration experience including relational design and SQL.

Responsibilities

• Lead the EDD DBA team in analysis, design, development, implementation and maintenance of traditional databases.
• Ensure databases are updated, deprecate non-operational databases and align with EDD standards.
• Advise on changes, architecture and data standards for databases; develop roadmaps and best practices.
• Monitor regulatory guidelines and emerging standards to assess impact on platform and products.
• Lead platform redesigns and improvements aligned with agency initiatives.
