Job summary

Sierra7 is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to lead a 41-database environment, oversee SharePoint and Power Apps data considerations, and ensure secure, reliable operations. The role requires on-site work in Washington, DC and collaboration across government stakeholders and developers.

Responsibilities include database administration, security, backups, migration, and performance tuning, with a focus on RMF compliance and DoD-related IT programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, database administration, data engineering, cybersecurity, or related discipline.
• 8+ years total IT/program experience.
• 5+ years of experience in Federal or DoD IT programs.
• 3 years of experience with Azure Database Administrator Associate and SQL Server Administrator experience.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, optimize, secure, and troubleshoot HQMC SQL Server databases.
• Manage and support the portfolio of SQL databases, including data modeling, normalization, schema management, data quality, and database standards.
• Provide senior technical input on SharePoint, Power Platform, reporting, and application data architecture.
• Develop and maintain backup, recovery, COOP, failover, and disaster recovery support processes.
• Support database migration, cloud migration, validation, and modernization activities.
• Manage database security administration, vulnerability remediation support, access controls, RMF evidence support, and audit support.
• Support developers through SQL programming, bug investigation, data loading, testing support, and database troubleshooting.
