Job summary

Contact Government Services is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to join our Information Technology team in Massachusetts. You will administer Microsoft SQL Server, manage migrations from 2012 to 2016, and ensure reliable backup, recovery, and performance tuning.

Ideal candidates bring at least five years of SQL Server experience, familiarity with virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), and the ability to document and explain complex database decisions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of SQL Server DBA experience.
• Experience with VMware or Hyper-V virtualization.
• Ability to document, explain, and present technical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Administer Microsoft SQL Server and related services.
• Migrate databases from SQL Server 2012 to 2016.
• Provide systems administration support for hardware and software.
• Recommend and implement SQL performance monitoring and tuning.
• Support Microsoft technologies and web services.
• Back up web, application, and database servers per policies.
• Monitor databases and manage space; provide extended support when needed.
