Jobot Consulting seeks a Sr. Database Administrator for a large California bank on a 12+ month contract with benefits.

The role focuses on managing on‑prem and cloud databases, enforcing security and governance, and driving performance optimization across multi‑cloud environments. Responsibilities include configuring Enterprise Always On, implementing IaC for DB environments, optimizing cloud costs, and integrating DB changes into CI/CD pipelines while ensuring high availability and data

Qualifikationen

• Deep expertise in at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or OCI).
• Relational DBMS experience: SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL; NoSQL/Big Data basics.
• Scripting in Python, PowerShell, or Bash for automation tasks.
• Design HA solutions with multi-region replication and automated failover.

Aufgaben

• Assist with on prem SQL databases including Enterprise Always On and monitoring tools.
• Automate provisioning and management of database environments (IaC).
• Manage data movement between local data centers and cloud services (RDS, Azure SQL, BigQuery).
• Monitor cloud resource usage and right-size to avoid unnecessary costs.
• Collaborate with DevOps to integrate database changes into CI/CD pipelines.
• Enforce data governance, IAM, encryption, and audit trails across environments.
• Tune performance across SQL and cloud resources, including IOPS and memory.
