Job summary

RSM US LLP seeks a Senior Database Developer for a temporary engagement to redesign and modernize a legacy system for a financial services client. You will analyze existing database architecture, translate business logic into scalable data models, and build high-performance, auditable data structures aligned with evolving business needs.

The role requires 8–10 years of SQL Server development/DBA experience, expertise in ETL (SSIS), data migration, data analysis, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 8-10 years of SQL Server development/DBA, data modeling, and large-scale database environments (financial services preferred).
• Strong expertise in data migration, ETL processes and integration tools (e.g., SSIS).
• Experience writing and optimizing stored procedures (SPROCs) and SQL database testing/automation.
• Proven experience developing high-performance, auditable database solutions with data controls and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing database architecture and data models for modernization.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and product owners to translate requirements into scalable database solutions.
• Design and develop new data models, schemas, and database objects.
• Build and optimize tables, stored procedures, and controls for data integrity and performance.
• Implement data governance controls and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Support iterative development and refine database structures as requirements evolve.
• Provide guidance and mentorship on data modeling best practices.
• Work in an Agile environment using Jira and Confluence.
