Job summary

RSM US LLP in Boston is seeking an experienced Senior Database Developer to lead the redesign and modernization of a legacy system for a financial services client. You will analyze existing database architecture, translate complex business logic into scalable, auditable data models, and build high-performance data solutions.

The role requires 8–10 years of SQL Server development/DBA, data modeling, and ETL experience, plus governance and security expertise.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
8-10 years of experience in SQL Server development/DBA, data modeling, and large-scale database environments.
Experience with data migration, ETL processes, SSIS, data analysis, data quality, and data modeling.
Proven ability to develop high-performance, auditable database solutions and ensure security/compliance.

Responsibilities

Analyze existing database architecture, decipher complex logic, and assess current data models.
Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable database solutions.
Design and develop new data models, schemas, and database objects with performance in mind.
Build and optimize tables, SPROCs, and controls to ensure data integrity and auditability.
Implement data governance controls and regulatory/security compliance.
Collaborate in an Agile environment using Jira and Confluence.
