Job summary

Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association, Inc. seeks a Senior Observability Engineer to set technical direction for enterprise observability. You will own architecture for monitoring systems, drive data quality, and lead automation efforts across Splunk platforms.

The role requires expert Splunk knowledge, strong leadership, and the ability to mentor engineers while partnering with cross-functional teams to improve service visibility and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, information systems, business, or related field.
• Expert Splunk knowledge and observability experience.
• Experience with CIM data models, dashboards, and alerts.
• Experience with Python, Bash, PowerShell, Ansible, APIs.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction and define enterprise standards for monitoring and observability platforms.
• Serve as technical authority for Splunk Enterprise and Splunk Cloud.
• Design telemetry strategies for logs, metrics, traces, events, and service health.
• Define onboarding, parsing, retention, and quality standards for data.
• Lead design of dashboards, correlation searches, and alerting strategies.
• Establish CIM-aligned data models and naming conventions.
