Job summary

CDW is seeking a senior Splunk engineer to design, implement, and manage Splunk environments across on-prem and cloud infrastructures. You will optimize data ingestion and build dashboards, alerts, and reports to meet operations, security, and business needs.

Applicants should have at least 8 years of hands-on Splunk experience in medium to large enterprises, a Bachelor's degree in a related field, and be willing to travel 10–20% to Phoenix, AZ. U.S. citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on Splunk administration and data analysis experience.
• Experience implementing Splunk in medium-to-large enterprise environments.
• Proficient in creating SPL queries, data transformations, and event types.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and manage Splunk environments across on-premise and cloud infrastructures.
• Perform upgrades, patches, and maintenance to ensure optimal system performance and security.
• Monitor Splunk system health and troubleshoot performance, configuration, and connectivity issues.
• Collaborate with application owners and network engineers to identify relevant data sources.
• Develop and maintain data onboarding processes, including parsing, indexing, and normalization of logs and metrics.
• Write and optimize SPL, data transforms, and event types for accurate data ingestion.
• Create dashboards, reports, and alerts tailored to operational, security, and business requirements.
