Job summary

Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Chattanooga at Cleveland is seeking a Senior Speech Language Pathologist to lead our therapy team and guide patients through communication and swallowing recovery with compassionate, patient-centered care.

You will mentor colleagues, coordinate in-service education, and contribute to program development while delivering direct patient care in a supportive, outcomes-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Current licensure or certification required by state regulations.
• Successful completion of SLP Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC).
• CPR certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Bachelor's degree in speech therapy or management; Master's or Doctorate degree preferred.
• Minimum of two years speech language pathology experience.
• Active on Therapy Clinical Ladder or specialty professional certifications.

Responsibilities

• Providing direct care to patients and building rewarding relationships by understanding each patient's physical, mental, and emotional needs to aid in their recovery.
• Mentoring and training new colleagues and other departments as needed.
• Delegating and supervising speech therapy assistants and technicians.
• Assisting with speech language in-service education and our speech language pathologist student program.
• Celebrating patient victories along the way.

Education

Bachelor's degree in speech therapy or management

Master's or Doctorate degree preferred

Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC)
