Job summary

Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Chattanooga at Cleveland is seeking a Senior Speech Language Pathologist to lead and guide patient care, focusing on speech and communication recovery. You will mentor teammates, oversee therapy assistants, and deliver compassionate, evidence-based services in a supportive setting.

The role emphasizes strategic leadership, direct patient care, and collaboration with education programs while ensuring compliance with licensure, CCC standards, and CPR

Qualifications

• Requires current state licensure for Speech Language Pathology.
• Successful completion of SLP Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC).
• CPR certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Bachelor's degree in speech therapy or management; Master's or Doctorate degree preferred.
• Minimum of two years speech language pathology experience.
• Active on Therapy Clinical Ladder (when eligible) or specialty professional certifications.

Responsibilities

• Providing direct care to patients and building rewarding relationships by understanding each patient's physical, mental, and emotional needs to aid in their recovery.
• Assisting with speech language in-service education and our speech language pathologist student program.
• Mentoring and training new colleagues and other departments as needed.
• Delegating and supervising speech therapy assistants and technicians.
• Celebrating patient victories along the way.
