Philadelphia Insurance Companies, part of the Tokio Marine Group, seeks a Sr. Specialty Underwriter for our Excess Casualty team in PHLY offices. You will underwrite, market and develop relationships with producers, submitting proposals and mentoring junior underwriters.

The role emphasizes risk assessment, analytical rigor, and timely decision-making. National salary range listed and salary will reflect geographic location and applicant experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years underwriting experience preferred
• Previous E&S underwriting experience required
• Marketing and agency development skills/experience required
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• Analytical, results-oriented and possess a strong sense of urgency

Responsibilities

• Gathers and analyzes information, applying underwriting techniques to evaluate risk acceptability.
• Prepares underwriting submissions, making recommendations and/or decisions within authority limits.
• Prepares and participates in proposals to producers/accounts negotiating terms and conditions.
• Prepares and participates in marketing activities for business development and relationship building.
• Mentors and trains less experienced underwriters.
