Philadelphia Insurance Companies is seeking a Sr. Specialty Underwriter to join our Excess Casualty team in our PHLY offices. The role focuses on risk assessment and underwriting expertise to determine acceptability, while developing relationships with producers and accounts.

The candidate will analyze information, prepare submissions, negotiate terms, and mentor junior underwriters. Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of underwriting experience preferred; E&S experience required.

Qualifications

• Previous E&S underwriting experience required.
• Demonstrated marketing and agency development skills/experience required.
• 5+ years underwriting experience preferred.
• Analytical, results-oriented and possess a strong sense of urgency.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

We are looking for a Sr. Specialty Underwriter to join our Excess Casualty team in any of our PHLY offices!

Summary: Under limited direction and supervision, underwrites and markets assigned products by providing high levels of risk assessment and technical underwriting expertise to determine underwriting acceptability. A typical day will include the following:

• Gathers and analyzes information, applying appropriate underwriting techniques necessary to make an accurate evaluation of risk acceptability.
• Prepares underwriting submissions, making recommendations and/or decisions within established authority limits.
• Prepares and participates in proposals to producers and/or accounts negotiating terms and conditions.
• Prepares and participates in marketing activities for business development and relationship building.
• Mentors and trains less experienced underwriters.
