Job summary

Pinnacle Specialty Group in Oak Ridge, TN seeks a Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead design and procurement for specialty equipment such as glovebox systems, furnaces, and high vacuum devices.

The role requires 10+ years in mechanical design, ABET-accredited degree, and strong expertise in FEA, structural/seismic analysis, 3D CAD (PTC Creo/SolidWorks), and cross-disciplinary leadership across mechanical, electrical, and controls teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in mechanical equipment design/specification.
• Experience writing detailed procurement documents for custom equipment.
• Strong background in analysis and calculations for machine design.

Responsibilities

• Create design and procurement documents for specialty equipment.
• Develop equipment specifications, statements of work, and datasheets.
• Perform engineering calculations/analysis (FEA, structural, seismic, heat transfer).
