Job summary

The Charles Schwab Corporation in Omaha, NE is seeking a Senior Specialist Developer to join Schwab Technology Services. You will work in an Agile team to design, deliver, and manage software solutions that support trading operations, risk management, and digital assets at scale.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in Java/J2EE, API development, concurrency, and experience with IDEs like IntelliJ; familiarity with Kafka, Docker/Kubernetes, and observability tools is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience in Java/J2EE.
• Experience with distributed systems and real-time processing.
• Proficient with IntelliJ IDE.
• Experience developing APIs and frameworks.
• Strong concurrency and multi-threading skills.
• Solid knowledge of data structures, algorithms and GoF patterns.
• Experience with version control (Git/Bitbucket/GitHub).
• Familiar with AI aiding the software development lifecycle.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-complexity design and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with other teams and interfaces with Enterprise Architecture.
• Lead system design, programming tasks, code reviews, and documentation.
• Mentor junior engineers; SME on system.
• Interface with Enterprise Architecture & Infrastructure teams on strategic designs.
• Resolve complex production and development issues.
