Job summary

NTT Global Data Centers Americas, Inc. is seeking a Senior Specialist, Accounting to manage complex accounting activities, support statutory and operational financial reporting, and ensure consistent application of accounting policies and internal controls in a remote US-based role.

You will lead balance sheet reconciliations, month-end close, intercompany and fixed asset accounting, review outputs for audit readiness, and contribute to process improvements and system upgrades with SAP or Oracle

Qualifications

  • 6–10 years of progressive accounting experience in corporate accounting, audit, or shared services environments.
  • Experience handling complex accounting areas and supporting statutory reporting.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision and mentor junior staff.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and post complex journal entries, accruals, and adjustments in compliance with GAAP/IFRS.
  • Lead balance sheet reconciliations for high-risk accounts, including intercompany and fixed assets.
  • Support month-end and year-end close activities and maintain close schedules.
  • Assist audits, respond to inquiries, and drive process improvements across accounting processes.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance and support system implementations or upgrades.

Experience a collaborative, innovative, and inclusive workplace where your ideas are valued, and your growth is supported.Your role at a glanceThe Senior Specialist, Accounting is responsible for independently managing complex accounting activities, supporting statutory and operational financial reporting, and ensuring consistent application of accounting policies and internal controls across the organization.This role serves as a technical accounting resource within the team, handling higher-risk and non-routine transactions, reviewing accounting outputs, and supporting audit readiness and process improvement initiatives.What we are looking forThe Senior Specialist, Accounting is responsible for independently managing complex accounting activities, supporting statutory and operational financial reporting, and ensuring consistent application of accounting policies and internal controls across the organization.This role serves as a technical accounting resource within the team, handling higher-risk and non-routine transactions, reviewing accounting outputs, and supporting audit readiness and process improvement initiatives.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESAdvanced Accounting & General Ledger ManagementPrepare, review, and post complex journal entries, accruals, and adjustments in compliance with accounting policies and GAAP/IFRS.Independently manage assigned general ledger areas, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.Investigate and resolve complex discrepancies in ledger accounts and transactional data.Support consistent application and execution of internal controls across accounting processes.Balance Sheet Ownership & Close LeadershipLead balance sheet reconciliations for complex or high-risk accounts, including intercompany, fixed assets, and judgment-based accruals.Review reconciliations prepared by Senior Associate Specialists or Specialists and provide feedback.Play a key role in month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring close deadlines and quality standards are met.Prepare and review close schedules, workpapers, and supporting documentation.Financial & Statutory Reporting SupportSupport preparation and review of operational and statutory financial reports.Compile and review accounting schedules and reporting packs for management, auditors, and regulators.Ensure accounting outputs meet internal quality standards and external reporting requirements.Audit, Compliance & Risk SupportServe as a primary accounting contact for audits related to assigned areas.Prepare audit documentation, respond to audit inquiries, and support issue resolution.Monitor accounting policy updates and support implementation across the team.Identify accounting risks and support corrective actions and control enhancements.Process Improvement & Knowledge SharingLead or contribute to process improvement and automation initiatives within accounting.Enhance accounting templates, reconciliations, and close checklists to improve efficiency and accuracy.Serve as a technical reference point and informal mentor to junior accounting staff.Support system implementations, upgrades, or reporting enhancements.KNOWLEDGE & ATTRIBUTESStrong technical knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS) and financial reporting.Advanced experience in general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and close processes.High attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to exercise professional judgment on complex or non-routine accounting matters.Effective communicator with the ability to explain accounting issues clearly.Organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities independently.Strong ethical standards and commitment to compliance and accuracy.ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS & CERTIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree or equivalent in finance / accounting or related field preferred.REQUIRED EXPERIENCE6–10 years of progressive accounting experience in corporate accounting, audit, or shared services environments.Experience handling complex accounting areas and supporting statutory reporting.Demonstrated ability to work independently with limited supervision.Experience reviewing work and providing guidance to junior team members.Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSRemain stationary for long periods of time.Operate computer, peripherals, and other office equipment.Perform work during US business hours and time zones.WORK CONDITIONS & OTHER REQUIREMENTSSome travel may be required.Perform work from a remote location with stable internet connection.Compensation Pay RangeFor roles residing in the US, we share pay and benefit levels to support pay transparency requirements. For other countries, we are more than happy to share our competitive pay and benefit levels during the interview process.This is a remote position that requires reliable internet connection and electricity. A monthly stipend is provided to cover expenses associated with working remotely and use of a personal mobile device, if applicable.NTT Global Data Centers Americas, Inc. offers competitive compensation based on experience, education, and location.
