Resurrection, A United Methodist Church in Leawood, KS is seeking a Senior Special Needs Care Associate in our Business Operations division. This part-time, non-exempt role provides hands-on support for adult learners with special needs, under Matthew’s Ministry, and partners with staff and volunteers to engage learners in activities.

Qualifications

• Minimum years of experience: 1 year of experience working and/or volunteering with individuals who have special needs.
• Physical requirements: Ability to walk across campus buildings, stand for extended periods of time, and lift up to 30 pounds.
• Knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Office is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily interaction and direct care to adult learners.
• Partner with the SALP Program Director to equip and empower adult learners and volunteers to engage in program activities to their full potential.
• Provide hands‑on assistance for adult learners and volunteers in all aspects of the learning program, including devotion, bakery, art class, music class, recreation, community service, and other enrichment activities.
• Foster good communication with adult learners, parents/caregivers, volunteers, and fellow staff members.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Follow Jesus and engage in the “five essential practices” of the Christian life: worship, study, serve, give, and share.
• Support the church’s purpose of “building a Christian community where non-religious and nominally religious people become deeply committed Christians.”
• Exemplify the church’s values and support its theological direction as a United Methodist Church.
