Job summary

Simply Spatial seeks a Senior Technical Consultant to lead the design, configuration, and delivery of spatial and enterprise technology solutions across client projects. You will own technical delivery, gather requirements, design solutions, and guide implementation while balancing hands-on work with leadership and client-facing responsibilities.

This role blends leading GIS solution design across projects, building maps, dashboards, workflows, and data pipelines, and mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

5+ years of GIS and spatial tech delivery in a consulting or enterprise environment.
Strong hands-on experience with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Enterprise.
Experience designing and delivering Experience Builder apps, dashboards, web maps, and Survey123 workflows.
Experience with spatial data modeling, schema design, and QA and QC practices.
Experience building or supporting automation, integrations, or data pipelines.
Explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, verbally and in writing.
Demonstrated ability to lead technical delivery and client engagements.
Ability to travel 20 to 30 percent for workshops, deployments, and client engagement.
Preferred: Power Automate, Python, JavaScript, SQL, ETL tools, REST services, APIs, or system integrations.
Experience mentoring junior staff or leading technical workstreams.
Experience working with government, utilities, or infrastructure-focused organizations.

Responsibilities

Lead the design, configuration, and delivery of GIS solutions using ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Enterprise.
Architect and deliver applications including Experience Builder apps, dashboards, web maps, Instant Apps, StoryMaps, and Survey123 workflows.
Lead spatial data modeling, digitizing standards, data cleanup, QA and QC, and schema design.
Design and deliver ETL workflows, data pipelines, and integrations between GIS, databases, and enterprise systems.
Design and support automation using Power Automate, Python, JavaScript, SQL, REST services, APIs, and webhooks.
Lead API-based and system-to-system integrations supporting operational and decision-support workflows.
Apply AI-enabled workflows and decision-support systems to real-world client challenges.
Lead discovery sessions, technical workshops, and solution design discussions.
Serve as the primary technical point of contact for assigned clients.
Review and QA work produced by associate and mid-level team members.
Troubleshoot complex issues across GIS, data, automation, and integrated systems.
Ensure solutions meet performance, security, reliability, and maintainability expectations.
Prepare and review technical documentation and client deliverables.
Support project planning, estimation, and delivery coordination.
Mentor and support the professional growth of junior team members.
Stay current with emerging spatial, automation, AI, and enterprise technologies.
