Job summary

Apple's Spatial Intelligence Experiences team is seeking a senior software engineer to own and drive application and experience development at the intersection of Spatial Computing and Generative AI. You will ship user-facing features across the Apple stack, including Siri AI and Image Playground, collaborating with design and QA to deliver high-quality experiences.

Qualifications

• BS / MS / PhD in Computer Science OR equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience owning and shipping consumer-facing applications or user experience features.
• Strong Computer Science fundamentals, and strong 3D math/linear algebra fundamentals.
• Proficiency in Swift, Objective-C, or C++. And familiarity with UI frameworks such as SwiftUI and UIKit.
• Experience solving technical challenges across multiple layers of a software stack, such as logging and diagnosing events from application code, UI framework, system framework, and backend LLM.
• Fluency with agentic development tools and workflows to accelerate coding, debugging, and testing.
• Experience in collaborating with a design team to iterate on UI feature implementation and polish. Ability to clearly articulate problems and explain the trade-offs of different software solution options.

Responsibilities

• Ship customer-facing spatial computing features powered by cutting-edge AI, such as embodied conversational AI assistants and generative spatial experiences.
• Own features end to end with a sharp focus on UI/UX polish. Take an idea from prototype to technical spec to production code that meets Apple's high shipping standard.
• Start from the user. Keep user pain points and the value the product can deliver front of mind, and bring strong product and design sense to lead through ambiguity.
• Drive collaboration across teams. Work closely with the engineering teams whose software your features depend on, as well as with design and quality assurance teams.
• Optimize for mobile platforms where compute and power are tightly limited. Analyze and discover new ways to optimize performance of features, so they can run smoothly and meet power and performance targets.
• Work with modern AI tooling. Use LLM-assisted development tools and build effective agentic workflows to move software quickly and steadily through each release milestone.
• Lead as a senior member. Work independently and proactively, build strong relationships with cross-functional partners, and help the engineering team run more efficiently.
