Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is a trusted partner to the nation’s space programs, solving complex problems with unmatched technical expertise. We seek a Senior Member of Technical Staff/Project Engineer in Systems Engineering to support NASA programs, Artemis, and Moonbase initiatives.

The role requires a Bachelor's in engineering/related STEM, 3–6 years in systems engineering, and the ability to lead technical tasks across diverse teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or another related STEM discipline.
• 3 years of experience in systems engineering, mission operations, or human spaceflight programs.
• Proven experience in human exploration architecture, integration, and mission operations with leadership ability.
• Strong knowledge of the engineering program lifecycle: requirements, design reviews, verification/validation.
• Ability to influence technical decisions with internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills for varied audiences.
• Experience working across diverse teams and engineering disciplines.
• Proficiency with systems engineering tools and methodologies.
• Track record of delivering technical products and meeting milestones.
• Willingness to travel 10–25%, domestically and internationally.
• Security clearance may be required; U.S. citizenship.
• Master's degree and NASA program exposure are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve in the program office and connect across exploration topics for moonbase, nuclear, science and Artemis transportation initiatives.
• Define operational technical requirements for the various programs.
• Perform assessments and readiness evaluations.
• Collaborate with NASA mission architects/designers and program experts across government and industry.
• Review contractor deliverables and NASA requirements for compliance and system effectiveness.
• Develop and maintain program plans and documentation.
• Support facility and infrastructure topics and planning.
• Participate in technical safety and integration working groups.
• Prepare reports and presentations for program offices.
• Travel for assignments as needed (10–25%).
