Space Dynamics Laboratory seeks an experienced Engineer to develop and verify thermal-control solutions for NASA and DoD satellites and precision payloads. Responsibilities span concept development, thermal architecture trades, design reviews, flight hardware integration, TVAC testing, and model correlation.

The role may lead as a thermal or mechanical project lead and support proposals, requiring collaboration across disciplines and strong communication of results. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace or closely related field.
• At least five years of thermal engineering experience.
• Experience with spacecraft thermal-design and analysis, including steady-state and transient modeling.
• Experience with PDR/CDR and thermal-requirements, margins, and verification.
• Experience with TVAC/thermal-balance testing of aerospace hardware.
• U.S. citizen and able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance.

Responsabilités

• Owns or contributes to spacecraft and optical-payload thermal architectures and selections.
• Develops steady-state and transient thermal models; evaluates environments and design margins.
• Prepares analyses, verification matrices, and design-review packages for SRR/PDR/CDR tests.
• Collaborates with mechanical, optical, electrical teams to translate analysis into flight designs.
• Plans and supports TVAC tests, data reduction, and model correlation.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical judgment on design margins and risks.
