Job summary

EVONA is seeking a Staff Mechanical Engineer to take technical ownership of spacecraft mechanical systems and mentor a small team. You will lead development across structures, mechanisms and interfaces, from concept through flight, working closely with GNC, EPS, CDH and Payload teams.

The role is hands-on, with emphasis on architectural trade studies, AI&T, and environmental testing. Strong CAD/FEA experience and flight heritage are required.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
• Significant experience with satellite structures and mechanisms.
• 5+ years leading technical teams or mentoring engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of spacecraft structures, mechanisms and interfaces.
• Own designs from concept through manufacturing, qualification and flight.
• Mentor a small team of mechanical engineers.
• Review structural and thermal analyses to meet mission requirements.
• Collaborate with GNC, EPS, CDH, Payload, RF and Systems teams.
• Support assembly, integration and environmental testing.
