Job summary

Muon Space seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to own the mechanical direction of the component from requirements to installation on the launch vehicle. You will work with engineering teams and stakeholders to deliver robust hardware for a satellite, with breadth across structural, thermal, and electrical domains.

This role requires leading mechanical design, performing analyses, and supervising a small team across the full lifecycle of electromechanical products, with on-site work in San Jose,

Qualifications

• 8+ years of design, build and test of high reliability hardware.

Responsibilities

• Have a deep understanding of Muon’s spacecraft platforms & capabilities.
• Tailor and develop components to platforms to meet mission needs.
• Design, build, and test mission specific components and payloads.
• Create, analyze, and refine spacecraft system mechanical designs in SolidWorks.
• Lead mechanical portion of internal/external design reviews.
• Interface with structural and thermal engineers to define and run analysis.
• Lead component environmental testing campaigns (vibration, TVAC, etc).
• Write new documentation and build procedures unique to the mission.
