Job summary

Xona is seeking a senior, broadly capable Materials & Processes (M&P) engineer to own coatings, materials, finishes, joining methods, and manufacturing-process standards that support our spacecraft programs—from early development through qualification and production. This is a high-impact role combining deep materials judgment with a hands-on approach.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• Significant experience in materials and processes for aerospace hardware, including qualification and production implementation.
• Strong ownership, communication, and cross-functional problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Own spacecraft M&P standards, specifications, and qualification approaches.
• Define material-selection criteria balancing performance, reliability, environment, manufacturability, cost and production scalability.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, test, quality, suppliers and labs to translate requirements into ready-to-build processes.
