Job summary

Axiom Space seeks a Specialist Materials & Process Engineer to advise on materials and processes for spacecraft environments and certify hardware for reliability and safety. You will prepare technical documentation, participate in milestone reviews, and collaborate with internal and external customers to ensure compliance with M&P requirements.

The role requires experience with metallic and nonmetallic materials, testing, and documentation reviews, plus strong communication and agile project

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Master’s Degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Advise on Materials & Processes requirements for IVA and EVA environments.
• Perform materials selection and certification of spaceflight hardware (flammability, corrosion, outgassing).
• Define testing and certification requirements and evaluate results for project compliance.
• Review project documentation and vendor documentation for M&P conformance.
• Prepare and deliver technical reports and M&P documentation (certifications, specs, test plans).
