Job summary

Blue Origin is hiring an external loads analyst to design and analyze the Transfer Stage spacecraft. The role covers loads development, integration with other vehicles, and support for subsystem teams with static and dynamic loads environments, contributing to humanity’s return to the Moon.

The position focuses on quasi-static and dynamic loads, FE modeling, and verification across launch operations, with a strong emphasis on safety, reliability, and collaboration within the Lunar Permanence

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in mechanical, aerospace or civil engineering is required.
• 6+ years of experience predicting/validating low/high frequency structural dynamics and loads and FE modeling.
• Strong foundation in static/dynamic structural fundamentals.
• Passion for spacecraft loads development/validation.
• Experience with Craig-Bampton model reduction and coupled loads analyses.

Responsibilities

• Develop, refine, validate, and correlate finite element models to tests.
• Conduct rigid and flexible body dynamics analyses.
• Model, simulate, and verify spacecraft launch, docking, and landing events.
• Measure, interpret acceleration, shock, and vibration data from ground and flight tests.
• Perform general loads development for spacecraft and ground systems.
• Support configuration development and trade studies.
