Job summary

Rocket Lab is seeking a Senior Harness Design Engineer II to lead the design, development, and integration of electrical harnesses for spacecraft from concept through fabrication. The role collaborates with systems, mechanical, and AIT teams to ensure seamless integration of harnesses into spacecraft architecture.

The candidate will perform electrical design analyses, contribute to schematics, reviews, and tolerance analyses, and help define electrical interfaces and acceptance criteria for

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace, mechanical, or electrical engineering.
• 8+ years of electrical engineering or avionics experience.
• Experience with harness design for spacecraft preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical harness systems for spacecraft, including connectors and backshells.
• Generate wiring diagrams, pinouts, and interface definitions for harness systems.
• Collaborate with systems engineering to interpret architecture and define electrical interfaces.
• Create and maintain BOMs for harness systems in PLM tools.
• Develop fabrication drawings and documentation for harness systems.
