Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Engineer to own EPS requirements, architecture, and verification for spacecraft power and data interfaces. You will manage traceability across block diagrams, budgets, and test plans while coordinating with propulsion, payload, and test teams.

Qualified candidates have 5+ years in spacecraft power systems and a strong background in EPS architectures, batteries, solar arrays, EMI/EMC, and interface documentation. U.S.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, systems engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in spacecraft systems engineering, electrical power systems, avionics integration, or high-reliability electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of EPS architectures, power electronics, batteries, solar arrays, protection, harnessing, electrical interfaces, grounding, EMI/EMC.
  • Experience writing/managing requirements, architecture trades, interface definition, verification planning.
  • Ability to interface with power-budget owners and review operating-mode analyses and test scenarios.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional technical closure in evolving architectures with aggressive schedules.
  • U.S. citizen/national, permanent resident or eligible under asylum/refugee status.

Responsibilities

  • Own electrical systems and EPS requirements baseline, architecture products, interfaces, verification strategy, and closure evidence.
  • Derive, allocate, and manage verifiable electrical-system requirements with traceability.
  • Interface with power-budget owners for nominal, peak, transient, contingency, and end-of-life cases.
  • Lead electrical architecture trades: bus voltage, battery topology, solar-array sizing, redundancy, cross-strapping.
  • Lead reviews for requirements, interfaces, verification, and test readiness; coordinate anomaly resolution.
  • Create verification plans and matrices; support flatsat, hardware-in-the-loop, and mission testing.
  • Manage risks, decisions, and change-impact assessments across documents and tests.
