Job summary

Insight Global seeks a Sr. Structural Dynamics Engineer to lead the analysis and testing of spacecraft hardware, ensuring flight systems withstand demanding launch and operational environments. Based in Houston, you will develop finite element models and perform modal, vibration, shock, and vibro-acoustic analyses across programs.

You will validate models with testing, guide test plans, instrumentation, and data correlation, and collaborate with design and test teams to drive mission success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• Willingness to travel to test facilities (10%).
• 8+ years in structural dynamics analysis and testing.
• Experience with vibration, shock, and modal testing.
• Experience with FEA and hand calculations.

Responsibilities

• Lead analysis and testing of spacecraft hardware to validate design performance.
• Develop finite element models and perform modal, vibration, shock, and vibro-acoustic analyses.
• Validate models through testing and correlate analytical results with test data.
• Plan and execute spacecraft hardware tests and define instrumentation requirements.
• Collaborate with design and test teams to develop test plans and interpret results.
