Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal Engineer (Level 3) for our Space Sector in Dulles/Chantilly, VA. The role is 100% onsite, supporting new Space programs with a focus on systems engineering, architecture, and mission planning.

You will work with cross-disciplinary teams, model mission-level elements, and produce key design documents to enable program success. U.S. citizenship and Top Secret clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with 5 years of experience, or Master’s with 3 years, or PhD with 1 year of experience.
• Active U.S. Government Top-Secret clearance required at time of application, current and within scope.
• Experience in systems engineering including architecture studies, requirements & interface management, hardware/software integration, and mission planning.

Responsibilities

• Support major program milestones and readiness reviews with technical content and stakeholder presentations.
• Author and contribute to program data products and deliverables.
• Model mission-level elements with mission partners and develop DRMs.
• Create design reference missions and analyze propellant budgets, on-orbit fuel, RF link budgets, and mission lifetime."
• Develop analysis tools as required and manage requirements from Mission to Subsystems.
• Interface management and development of Interface Control Documentation.
