Job summary

Boeing Space, Defense, Space, and Security seeks a Space Vehicle Design Engineer (Experienced, Senior or Lead) for onsite work in El Segundo, CA. The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, advanced 3D CAD modeling, and leading design activities across spacecraft structure, propulsion, and payload systems.

The candidate will contribute to trades, reviews, and content for proposals, with a strong focus on innovative, accountable engineering and clear communication with program leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering with focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautical or Materials.
• 5+ years in 3D CAD modeling and drawings.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams on space products.
• Strong communication with leadership and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross functional teams to interpret requirements and develop conceptual spacecraft configurations and layouts using CAD tools.
• Support high-level systems engineering trades to balance configurations for performance, risk, schedule and cost.
• Present work at design integration and campaign reviews.
• Establish innovative solutions for spacecraft structure, propulsion, power, and payload systems.
• Provide proposal content including drawings, layouts, and 3-D models.
