Job summary

Rocket Lab in Littleton, CO is seeking a Senior System Test Engineer I to lead the development and maintenance of budgets, requirements, test planning and execution within the Space Systems team. You will support the Chief Space Systems Engineer and prepare deliverables for leadership and investors.

Responsibilities include designing, documenting, reviewing and executing tests on spacecraft avionics; writing test scripts; procuring fixtures; and collaborating with flight software and GNC

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field.
• 5+ years in developing or testing electrical systems (avionics, spacecraft).
• Proficiency in Python or similar scripting languages.
• Knowledge of test equipment and circuit design basics.

Responsibilities

• Design, document, review and execute tests on spacecraft avionics.
• Plan, write and execute test scripts to verify hardware/software interfaces and verify requirements.
• Review test plans, hardware drawings, and test reports; procure fixtures as needed.
• Collaborate with flight software and GNC engineers to troubleshoot anomalies.
• Communicate test plans and results with leadership and customers.
• Travel to customer and vendor facilities to support hardware delivery and checkout.
