Job summary

Sierra Space is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead medium-sized technical projects, ensuring successful integration of engineering solutions and adherence to cost and schedule constraints. You will bridge Engineering and the Program Office, guide technical evaluations, and mentor junior engineers.

You will coordinate with suppliers and customers, develop and manage Statements of Work, and drive risk management and continuous improvement across programs.

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Typically 8+ years of related experience.
• Strong foundation with leadership capabilities.
• Understanding of key programmatic disciplines (Cost/Schedule).
• Ability to lead medium-sized cross-functional teams and projects.
• Extensive technical expertise in the engineering discipline.
• Proven track record leading technical teams through project execution.
• Strong project management skills for complex design evaluations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic thinking.
• Experience across full development lifecycle of projects.
• Expertise in EVMS, CAM or equivalent.
• Experience with risk and opportunity management execution.
• Ability to collaborate with varied SMEs to drive outcomes.
• Clear verbal and written communication of technical concepts.

Responsibilities

• Lead medium-sized cross-functional teams and projects.
• Provide technical estimation support for Basis of Estimates, Proposals, Contracts.
• Conduct high-impact trade studies and technical evaluations.
• Mentor junior engineers and manage supplier Statements of Work.
• Manage Risk Management and Cost/Schedule for programs.
• Interface with customers and stakeholders and communicate progress to leadership.
• Report KPIs and Technical Performance Metrics.
• Drive continuous improvement and bridge Engineering and Program offices.
