Job summary

Kratos Defense in Colorado Springs, CO is hiring a mid-level Project/Program Manager to lead technically focused programs with space systems knowledge. You will interface with customers, manage schedules and budgets, and provide technical guidance across engineering teams in a fast-paced environment. US citizenship and eligibility for TS/SCI are required.

The role requires direct customer interfacing, funding forecast work, and travel to conferences and meetings (approx. 20% CONUS).

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer or related field; 5+ years relevant work or 8 years ops exp.
• Willing to learn, take ownership, deliver results in unstructured env.
• PM or Technical Leadership experience.
• Direct experience with Government acquisition processes.
• Knowledge of space systems including ground systems, C2, RF, and development processes.
• Ability to generate and manage funding forecasts.
• Support, track, and status project/program schedules.
• Track and manage project/program budgets and execution.
• Experience leading a diverse engineering team across disciplines.
• Present programmatic info to team, management, customers as appropriate.
• Self-starter in fast-paced engineering environments; strong communication.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance (TS/SCI).

Responsibilities

• Lead highly technical engineering teams on ground-based SATCOM equipment.
• Interface with customers to define and deliver requirements.
• Manage baselines, budgets, and progress.
• Provide technical guidance on architectures and solutions.
• Coordinate with resource managers to allocate staff.
• Protect proprietary and sensitive information.
• Manage sub-contractors and vendors as applicable.
• Deliver customer presentations and design reviews.
• Report financial and technical performance to senior management.
• Travel to conferences and customer meetings as needed (20% CONUS).
