Job summary

Airbus U.S. Space & Defense, Inc. seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to design and analyze new satellite and aerospace systems with emphasis on avionics development and integration.

You will own the full lifecycle from requirements to operations, working across spacecraft programs, with opportunities to lead design activities and collaborate across multi-functional teams in a dynamic, defense-focused environment. US citizenship and eligibility for clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM or related field; Master preferred.
• 8+ years with bachelor's or 6+ with master's in aerospace hardware systems.
• Experience from concept through design, development, manufacture, integration, test, deployment and operations.
• Familiarity with space mission architectures beyond satellite platform including launch and flight ops.
• Experience with spacecraft subsystems, software, power, data handling, attitude control, comms.
• Knowledge of requirements definition, decomposition and verification & traceability matrices.
• Ability to obtain government security clearance; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to development of Airbus U.S.'s satellite systems with focus on avionics development and integration.
• Involve in full lifecycle from requirements definition through operations.
• Provide autonomous support of complex assignments under leadership of Managers and Chief Engineers.
• Drive multiple design activities across spacecraft, payload, bus, and launch integration.
• Participate in cross-functional planning, coordination, and execution across engineering teams.
