Airbus U.S. Space & Defense, Inc. is seeking an experienced Avionics Engineer to develop satellite avionics and C&DH systems, leading across the full lifecycle from requirements through operations.

The role emphasizes design for cost/manufacturability, reuse of heritage Airbus products, and collaboration with multiple programs while ensuring mission environments are considered for SWaP and radiation effects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM or related fields; Master's preferred.
• Minimum 8 years with Bachelor's or 6 years with Master's; aerospace hardware/software experience.
• Proficient with MATLAB, STK, C++ and with RS-422, CAN, 1553, SpaceWire interfaces.
• Experience in designing and developing avionics, C&DH and space systems; design-for-cost/manufacturability.
• Strong communication and team collaboration across multi-functional groups.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of satellite avionics and C&DH systems across the full lifecycle.
• Design and implement C&DH and avionics for new spacecraft and heritage platforms.
• Support subsystem requirements flow-down and cross-program coordination.
• Drive roadmap support and spacecraft customization processes.
• Promote reuse of heritage designs and optimize manufacturing infrastructures.
