Job summary

Rincon Research Corporation is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to lead end-to-end development of space-domain systems, guiding architecture, SRR through CDR, integration, testing and deployment for US Government space programs.

You will collaborate across disciplines in architecture, verification, and customer interface, staying current with new technologies and driving risk- and margin-aware decisions on complex system solutions from concept to operations.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI security clearance.
• US citizenship is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Systems Engineering, Electrical, Aerospace, Computer Engineering, Physics, or related).
• 10+ years of progressive systems engineering experience.
• Experience with MBSE methodologies and tools (CAMEO).
• Direct, hands-on experience developing and deploying space systems.
• Proficiency with DOORS, Jama, Cradle for requirements management.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the overall system architecture across subsystems and mission phases.
• Balance performance, risk, cost, schedule, and margins in system-level decisions.
• Resolve cross-discipline technical issues and elevate risks to leadership.
• Participate in system requirements definition, allocation, and traceability.
• Establish system-level verification and validation strategies aligned with objectives.
• Support system-level technical reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR).
• Define and oversee system integration, test, and verification activities.
• Serve as a technical interface to the customer and present status.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and apply beneficial innovations.
• Work across the full mission lifecycle from development to operations.
