Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) seeks a Space Systems Engineer to support NSS projects and new concept development. You will lead efforts from concept through integration, addressing hardware, software, and testing across mission-focused teams, and interfacing with sponsors and management.

Applicants should have a strong space engineering background, 8+ years in the field, and hold an active TS/SCI clearance with U.S. citizenship.

Qualifications

• BS (or higher) in engineering, physics, or equivalent with 8+ years space engineering experience.
• Active TS/SCI clearance and US citizenship required.
• Proven leadership and ability to interface with sponsors and teams.
• Experience with national security space projects and systems engineering.
• Strong analytical, communications, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering teams in space mission concepts and system analysis for NSS.
• Provide technical interface to sponsor and project management.
• Perform systems-level analysis, trade studies, and analyses of alternatives.
• Lead reviews and coordinate testing and risk management.
• Deliver integrated missions, payloads, spacecraft, or mission articles.
