Job summary

FTS International, LLC in Chantilly, VA is seeking a Space Relay Systems Telecommunications Engineer to support the development, modeling, analysis, and integration of advanced telecommunications architectures that include space relays and space-to-ground systems. Responsibilities include architecture development for RF/Optical space relay networks, end-to-end system analysis, and collaboration with government and contractors to identify risks and opportunities.

Qualifications

• TS/SCI with polygraph is required.
• BS STEM in engineering discipline.
• 12+ years in telecommunications engineering or related fields.
• Experience with free-space optical links and optical space-to-ground transport.
• Knowledge of transport security technologies and encryption devices.
• Familiarity with DoD SATCOM and relay networks.

Responsibilities

• Support architecture development for RF and Optical space relay networks.
• Perform engineering analysis for end-to-end communications systems.
• Model system performance: link budgets, throughput, latency, and resilience.
• Define interfaces and integrate products across space and ground segments.
• Develop analyses and briefings for leadership and customers.
• Collaborate with government and partners to identify risks and gaps.
• Contribute to MBSE modeling and digital engineering artifacts.
