Job summary

FTS International, LLC is seeking an RF Systems Engineer in Chantilly, VA to support government RF programs. The role provides management and outreach support to the government customer RF Program Manager and involves RF technology evaluation, project management, and R&D planning.

Qualifications

  • TS/SCI with polygraph is required.
  • BS STEM in engineering discipline required.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience required.
  • Experience developing and coordinating technology roadmaps with multiple agencies.
  • Strong professional network in RF-related fields (government, academia, industry).
  • Strong technical acquisitions background (prior government acquisitions/contracts management a plus).
  • MS STEM in engineering discipline is preferred.

  • Support Technical Exchange Meetings related to ground, space, and launch vehicle contracts.
  • Advise RF PM on technical aspects of RF portfolio.
  • Plan and support technology maturation throughout the R&D lifecycle.
  • Plan and execute all budgetary aspects of the R&D Program.
  • Guide future RF technology development strategy and roadmaps.
  • Support transition of mature RF hardware to system program offices for flight development.
  • Survey RF technologies and provide technical recommendations.
  • Drive resiliency initiatives in RF technology.
  • Support acquisition strategy and process.
  • Develop RFPs, statements of work, requirements, CDRLs, and other solicitation documents.
  • Interact with DoD, NASA, National Labs and Universities.

TheRF Systems Engineerprovides management and outreach support to the government customer RF Program Manager.


Responsibilities


  • Utilize knowledge and background in RF technology and development to support a government program manager in technical evaluation, project management, and execution of RF technology research and development (R&D)

  • Support Technical Exchange Meetings related to ground system, space vehicle, and launch vehicle contract execution

  • Advise RF PM on technical aspects of the RF portfolio

  • Plan and support technology maturation throughout the R&D lifecycle

  • Plan and execute all budgetary aspects of the R&D Program

  • Guide future RF technology development strategy and roadmaps

  • Support transition of mature RF hardware to system program offices for flight development

  • Survey state-of-the-art RF technologies and provide technical recommendations

  • Drive advancement of resiliency activities/initiatives in RF technology

  • Support all phases of the acquisition strategy and process

  • Develop requests for proposals, statements of work, requirements, contract data requirements list (CDRL) and other required solicitation/contract documents

  • Support acquisition source selection activities as a technical advisor on RF-related technologies and components

  • Interact with outside agencies to include DoD, NASA, National Labs and Universities

  • Identify and advise customers on relevant current and emerging technologies, as well as tasks affecting the management of the R&D portfolio

  • Assist with the oversight of technology development contracts and build status briefings for government customers and industry partners


Required Skills/Qualifications


  • TS/SCI with polygraph

  • BS STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) in engineering discipline

  • 5+ years' relevant experience

  • Experience developing and coordinating technology roadmaps with multiple agencies

  • Strong professional network in RF-related fields (government, academia, and industry)

  • Strong technical acquisitions background (Prior government agency acquisitions/contracts management experience a plus)

Expected Salary Range:$125,000 - $162,000 per year. Placement within the range is determined by qualifications, job-related criteria, experience, internal equity and market considerations.
