Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space in New York is seeking a Project Engineer to support the Avionics D5/LE team. You will oversee engineering activities, manage schedules and costs, review actuals, identify root causes, and communicate risks and mitigations to stakeholders.

The role requires ensuring compliance with design standards, coordinating with suppliers, and presenting status updates to leadership. A strong emphasis on cross-functional teamwork and proactive risk management is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with managing schedules, budget, and subcontracts deliverables.
• Understanding of Earned Value Management
• Understanding of project lifecycles & development programs
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to perform oral presentations in front of large groups
• Proven ability to work successfully across functional groups and with internal and external customers
• Willing to go the extra mile to support program requirements and adapt easily to changing priorities.
• Exceptional organizational skills
• Proficient Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• Degree from an accredited college

Responsibilities

• Performing Project Engineering duties for various age management initiatives
• Reviewing actuals, metrics, and schedule
• Identifying issues and deep diving to determine root cause and corrective action
• Proactive project management (early risk identification, deconflicting long-range schedule conflicts, and proper communication to stakeholders)
• Communication with suppliers & subcontract management teams to align schedule and cost with delivery dates
• Supporting the Age Management D5/LE IPT lead by presenting status, risks, opportunities and long-range plans
• Coordinates planning, organization, control, integration and completion of engineering projects within area of assigned responsibility.
