Job summary

Trident Systems in Fairfax, VA is seeking a Senior Program Manager to lead complex space electronics programs from development through production. You will own performance across cost, schedule, and risk and serve as the primary interface to customers, guiding cross‑functional teams to deliver on commitments.

The role requires 12+ years in aerospace or DoD programs, PMP, and strong financial mgmt skills. You’ll mentor others and help grow program execution capabilities within the PMO.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with 12+ years of relevant aerospace/DoD program experience
• Experience managing space or aerospace programs, ideally involving hardware development
• Proven success managing government programs (FAR-based contracts, multiple CLINs)
• Strong background in program financials, planning, and execution
• Experience leading product development programs (design prototype production)
• Working knowledge of government contract types
• PMP certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
• Proficiency with MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

Responsibilities

• Lead space flight programs and ensure successful execution
• Drive program performance for cost, schedule, and risk commitments
• Develop and maintain an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) with critical path, milestones, and resource loading
• Establish and manage labor and non-labor resource plans
• Identify engineering resource needs and timing to support program execution
• Partner cross-functionally with Product Management, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Contracts, and Finance
• Drive subcontractor performance and accountability to meet program commitments
• Set expectations across SEIT and broader engineering teams
• Maintain risk and opportunity matrix with burn-down plans and mitigation strategies
• Serve as primary customer interface and ensure satisfaction
• Oversee program financials, forecasting, and reporting
• Support proposal efforts and growth opportunities
• Mentor and develop other PMs within the PMO
