Job summary

Star Catcher Industries, Inc., located in Jacksonville, FL, is seeking an experienced Senior Power Electronics Engineer to design the critical hardware that enables our space-based power network. You will be responsible for interfacing directly into our spacecraft’s onboard battery system and developing the high-power regulators and conditioners needed to deliver clean, continuous power to the lasers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of professional experience in high-power power electronics design.
• Experience with spaceflight or aerospace standards preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design high-power DC-DC converters, regulators, and power conditioning units for multi-kilowatt loads.
• Interface with spacecraft battery system and manage high-current transients.
• Collaborate with mechanical/thermal engineers to meet extreme space-grade requirements.
• Lead a power electronics team and mentor junior engineers.
• Develop and execute EMI/EMC, TVAC, and vibration tests from breadboard to flight qualification.
