Job summary

Turion Space in Irvine, CA seeks a Senior Mission Systems Engineer (MBSE) to drive development and integration of critical space missions across space and ground segments. You will work through proposal, concept, design, testing, and final operations to ensure the system meets function, performance, and reliability.

The role requires strong SysML modeling, familiarity with space architectures, and collaboration with government customers, primes, and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years experience in systems engineering on space, defense or complex engineered systems.
• Hands-on experience developing SysML models with tools listed (Cameo, Rhapsody, EA).
• Familiarity with NASA SE Handbook, INCOSE SE Handbook, or MIL-STD-499.
• Experience with requirements management and bidirectional traceability.
• Knowledge of space mission architectures and ground segment components.
• Ability to obtain Secret or TS/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain SysML models for space systems across mission architecture.
• Construct structured models capturing objectives, functions, interfaces, and physical architectures.
• Maintain model traceability from ConOps to requirements and verification.
• Interface with government customers, primes, and subcontractors on MBSE data exchange.
• Assist in road maps and development plans for the systems engineering org.
