Job summary

MTSI is seeking a senior Digital Systems/Test Engineer to support first‑of‑kind space vehicles and missions. This role provides System Engineering Technical Assistance (SETA) to the Space Rapid Capabilities Office (RCO) and oversees engineering activities spanning hardware, software, sensors, and processors.

Qualifications

• Ten or more years in DoD/IC or related industry
• Experience with digital engineering to create and optimize systems/products
• Experience building and managing system models with MBSE tools
• Proficiency in SysML/UML for requirements, architecture and design
• Experience with modeling/simulation tools
• DoD acquisition documentation and programmatic discussions
• Understanding of operational environment and mission user needs
• Knowledge of space system engineering and manufacturing
• Experience with DoD program management and transition
• Experience with integration of digital engineering tools
• Experience with system architecture design and cross-disciplinary collaboration

Responsibilities

• Support design, interpretation, and analysis of technical solutions to complex projects
• Lead or support technically complex programs requiring engineering oversight
• Ensure timely delivery within budget and schedule, flagging risks to PM
• Ensure deliverables meet standards and warfighting requirements
• Plan and perform engineering research and development in line with specs
• Oversee technical portions of major projects and programs
• Coordinate with partners to support milestones
• Track design trades and cost/schedule impacts
• Support testing in digital environments and validation/verification activities
• Communicate results clearly to management and leadership
