Lunar Outpost seeks a Senior Staff Manufacturing Engineer to lead engineering and manufacturing efforts for spaceflight hardware and lunar vehicle systems. You will partner with design, test, and supply chain teams to ensure manufacturability, reliability, and scalability in a fast-paced startup environment.

Responsibilities include defining tooling and assembly methods, owning build documentation, driving root-cause analysis, and qualifying processes with suppliers.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/manufacturing/aerospace engineering.
• 7–10 years in manufacturing engineering, aerospace or related fields.
• Experience developing and executing manufacturing processes for complex assemblies.
• Strong GD&T knowledge and engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with AS9100 or similar quality systems.
• Experience with root cause analysis (8D, RCCA, Fishbone, etc.).
• Hands-on experience in machining, fabrication, or assembly.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and implement manufacturing processes for spacecraft and related assemblies.
• Collaborate with design for manufacturability, assembly, and test.
• Own build documentation: work instructions, drawings, and specs.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for non-conformances.
• Define tooling, fixturing, and assembly methods for high-precision hardware.
• Support rapid prototype builds and supplier development.
• Drive continuous improvement to reduce cost, cycle time, and defects.
• Plan manufacturing readiness activities and ramp strategies.
