Job summary

Katalyst is an American technology company focused on dynamic space operations. We are building a fleet of dual-use robotic space vehicles to enable routine orbital maneuvering, refueling, and exploration.

You will architect solutions for space domain awareness and RPOD with an emphasis on autonomy, applying machine learning, Kalman filtering, and physics-based methods. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a technical engineering discipline and 3+ years in guidance, navigation, and control,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field required.
• 3+ years experience in guidance, navigation, and control required.
• Software development in Python required.
• Experience developing, debugging, deploying GNC sensors, actuators, and algorithms in real-world projects required.
• Ability to work in fast-paced startup atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Architect solutions for space mission objectives around space domain awareness and RPOD with emphasis on autonomy from hardware and software perspectives.
• Evaluate techniques to achieve mission goals using ML, physics-informed methods, stochastic methods, Kalman Filters, etc.
• Assist in proposal capture with feasibility analyses and engagements with DoD and government/partners.
• Lead trade studies, design algorithms and tooling for orbit determination and state estimation.
• Collaborate with software and GNC teams to implement algorithms in flight software.
