Job summary

Katalyst, an American technology company focused on dynamic space operations, seeks a senior GNC engineer to lead architecture from concept to flight, applying autonomy, orbit determination, and state estimation.

You will collaborate with software and hardware teams, implement flight algorithms, and support testing, with compensation outlined and ITAR considerations noted. Based in Colorado, this role is on-site at our Boulder/Denver-area facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in guidance, navigation, and control.
• Software development experience in Python.
• Experience developing, debugging, and deploying GNC sensors, effectors and algorithms in real-world applications.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, autonomously driven, and demanding start-up atmosphere.
• Proven ability to lead a project from conception to completion.

Responsibilities

• Architect solutions necessary to accomplish space mission objectives around space domain awareness and RPOD with an emphasis on autonomy, from both a hardware and software perspective.
• Lead trade studies and guide the GNC team from conceptualization to flight for RPOD missions; design algorithms and simulations for orbit determination and state estimation.
• Collaborate with software and GNC teams to implement algorithms in flight software and support hardware-in-the-loop testing.
• Balance CONOPS with thermal, power, momentum and communications for spacecraft missions; provide mission operations training and support.
