Job summary
Varda in El Segundo, CA seeks a Senior Firmware Engineer for the Flight Software team. You will determine how our spacecraft behaves in orbit and build reliable firmware, from requirements capture through test and flight operations support.
You will own all aspects of software development, write bare metal, RTOS, or Linux based code for embedded processors in C++, and ensure quality with rigorous V&V. The role is on-site with strong compensation and equity options.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, math, physics, engineering or equivalent safety-critical software experience.
- 5+ years of experience in development of spacecraft or similar safety-critical software.
- Experience developing and testing real-time embedded hardware/software systems.
- Experience with C++ and strong language fundamentals.
Responsibilities
- Determine how the spacecraft behaves in orbit and build reliable software from requirements capture through test and flight operational support.
- Develop firmware to control the spacecraft, satellite bus, and reentry capsule across the entire mission.
- Own all aspects of software development: design, testing, and integration.
